Shop Local - More than 50 Portland, OR Shopify Stores

By Ilana Davis

My parents owned a small computer store located in the small downtown of a small city where everyone knew everyone. The entire city was no more than five square miles.

I guess you can say that because of their beginnings, I have a strong connection to supporting small businesses.

Buying from small businesses doesn’t just add more money to their pockets or pay the salaries of their employees. This was how my parents put food on the table, paid for summer camps, soccer jerseys, baseball equipment, and so much more for my brother, sisters, and me. Their store was the exact definition of a mom & pop shop. Selling and repairing Apple II’s at the time was good business but difficult to compete with larger corporations.

Shop Local, Shop Small

Today, their store is long gone, but their entrepreneurship and connection to small businesses remain.

Whenever possible I shop small and spend my dollars where it’s most meaningful. I want to help you do the same which is why I put together a list of local Portland, Oregon businesses on Shopify. I hope you find this helpful.
