You’ve worked so hard to get people to your Shopify or Squarespace site, only to beg them to click on your latest Instagram photo.

Guess what happens when they click on that Instagram photo?

Stop adding social feeds to your website

All your hard work of getting them to your website is now lost. They’ve gone to your Instagram feed and then got distracted by another post of a friend’s goofy dog at the beach.

The goal of social media should be to bring people to your website. Not to take people from your website to your social media page.

By all means, have links to your social sites in a footer or side menu. It’s important to include social sites and can really help your SEO as this builds trust. It’s not necessary however to have a feed.
