Holiday preparations you may have forgotten

I can only imagine all the things on your to-do list that need to get done right now. Although I feel bad adding more to your plate, this is something you can’t ignore heading in to the holiday season.

Search Engine Optimization, in general, can take six-months or more.

Now would be the ideal time, if you haven’t already, to start thinking about what pages you’d want to create or start to rank for this holiday season.

Perhaps a coupons page? Or a holiday deals page?

You don’t need to get them perfect right now. Get a landing page published with a bit of content on it. Then as you figure out what your promotions will actually look like for the holiday season, update and fill it out. Don’t delay though.

For many, it’s not just Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I’ve seen Shopify stores planning for a whole week or a whole month of savings. That means you have around 1-2 months which is not a lot of time.

It’s possible though if your pages are already published, that you can start to improve how they appear in search results now.

One way to do that is to ensure your structured data is up to snuff.

Not all themes or structured data apps provide enough data to qualify you for Rich Results in Google, let alone for Bing and Pinterest.
