Breadcrumb structured data is now analyzed by Google Search Console
Fresh on the trail of the structured data algorithm update, Google Search Console has also released a new structured data report for Breadcrumbs and started emailing websites about it.
Breadcrumb structured data reports now available in Google Search Console
Many Shopify themes have had problems with Breadcrumb data, some with coding errors going back years. Hopefully with this update theme developers will be able to find and fix their last remaining bugs.
With the search enhancement report for Breadcrumbs in Google Search Console, Shopify merchants should be able to see more easily if there are any issues with their Breadcrumb structured data.
One note for JSON-LD for SEO customers: the app doesn’t add Breadcrumb structured data automatically due to the high risk of getting it wrong. You can enable breadcrumb structured data for your Shopify store for products and blogs.
